Process
Discussion
First of all we need to understand what you are looking for, this can be done over the phone, email or better yet, visit the studio. A custom build is a very personal experience, it’s important to acknowledge your passions, learn about what interests you and understand why you are looking for a custom build, so we can build something that is truly unique for you.
Quote
Based on our discussion and the type of bike you are looking for we will create a quote, if you wish to proceed a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required to secure your place in the build queue and start your frames journey.
Bike Fitting
We will arrange and book you in for a fit session at local fitters Cyclopaedia, or if you already have measurement we can use these.
Ian, who is the highly experienced and knowledgeable fitter will take full body measurements, discuss any riding discomforts you may have and adjust you on the static bike jig to find your optimum riding position, this position will act as the framework to the design of your bike.
Design
The frame will be designed around your bike fit position and body measurements, this ensures that the frame is perfectly suited to you and the bike will also be designed around your chosen components. You will receive a copy of the design to review and sign off before the building commences.
During this time we will also be looking at different colour options for your frame, this is often the hardest decision as possibilities are endless, this is why being able to understand your passions and interests is helpful as inspiration can quite often be extracted from these.
Build
Fabrication and the craft of you frame will take place, I put my heart and soul into every build that is made out to ensure quality is to the highest standard, during this time you can stay up to date with the progress of the build via our Instagram page.
Paint
Paint is typically the hardest decision of the entire process as possibilities are endless.
As standard all of our frames come with a single colour with logos in a second colour.
However. We get it. You want your bike to be a reflection of yourself and really stand out.
Thats why we offer a custom paint service to make your bike one of a kind.
Prepare & Assemble
Recieving the frame from the painters I will prepare the frame by facing all contact surfaces, chase all threads and ream the seat tube. The frame will also receive internal protection to provide long lasting resistance against corrosion.
The frame can then be assembled with all your chosen components. you will receive the final bill which will need to be paid before collection of your completed build.
